Aleks the Kid and the Lumen Isle · An adventure game by GritAI Studios
The short version: the game keeps your progress so you can come back to it, and nothing else. No account, no name, no email, no ads, no tracking.
What the game keeps
- Your saved game, in your browser. Where you are, your items, gems, skills and play time. It stays on your device, and the game works without anything else.
- A copy of that save on our server, after about a minute of play, with an adventure code such as garnet-grouse-rope-00. Type the code on another device to carry on there. The copy is only game progress. We store the code itself as a scrambled fingerprint, so it can't be read back from our database.
- Error reports. If something breaks, the game sends what went wrong: the error, the game's version,
the type of browser, the screen size, and the page address without anything after the
?.
What the services we use see
- The game is hosted on Microsoft Azure, and the saves live in Supabase (in Stockholm). Like any website, their own logs see your device's internet address (IP address) when the game loads or saves.
- To stop anyone guessing codes or flooding the server, our server counts requests per address in hourly windows and deletes the counts after about a day.
- The game's fonts, music and pictures all come from this site. Nothing is loaded from other companies.
What the game never does
- No names, emails, birthdays or accounts.
- No chat. Players can't see, find or contact each other.
- No ads, analytics, tracking or cookies. Your save sits in your browser's own storage, not in a cookie.
- Nothing is sold or shared.
Your adventure code
Anyone who has your code can load your save on their device, so keep it to yourself, like a key. Forgot it? Your save is still on the device you played on.
Questions
